Ronnie needed to collected a few more volunteers to grill hamburgers and hotdogs at Fire Station 1 on Atlanta Road. Jim Duelmer, Ronnie Smith, Gale Baker, Russ Lutterbie volunteered. Alive After Five was addressed by Russ Lutterbie. Russ reminded the board that the event would be held at 5:30 on September the 12th at Zucca’s. Kirby Winters was to send out another reminder of the Alive After Five event.
New Business:
Steve Saenz and Steve Hughes were introduced to the Board Members. They were visiting from the Vinings Rotary Club and introduced the idea of having a quarterly business person in the area that is recognized for using the Four-Way Test. Rotarians use the Four-Way test to measure, “…of the things we think, say or do, Is it the Truth? Is it FAIR to all concerned? Will it build GOOD WILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned? The two groups agreed to work together to identify business people in the area to be recognized. The clubs would nominate an individual, and further in the future the past recipients of the award would also help decide on the winner.
A Holiday party was discussed. It was suggested that the party substitute for an Alive After Five event or a regular meeting. The board would like to have more family participation to make it different than a regular meeting. It was discussed that their will need to be sponsorship of the event and that their could be a silent auction.
The credit card processing of new members information was discussed by Kirby Winters and Jim Duelmer. Two options brought up were, Google’s payment processing option and Regions Bank processing. Their were pros and cons pointed out about each. The idea, is that new members could join the Association through the web site, then an invoice would get mailed to them, and they could pay through the mail, or on-line by creating an account.
Jim Duelmer adjourn the meeting and Steve Clair second the motion.
